According to the paper, the suspect was arrested in Thailand's Sa Kaeo province near the border of Cambodia last Tuesday. The detainee, whose nationality has yet to be confirmed, told investigators that he had been directed by a mastermind called "Izaan" to buy bomb-making materials on the Internet, made the bomb, and then delivered it to another man, who was seen on security footage wearing a yellow t-shirt and placing a rucksack under a bench at Erawan shrine moments before the blast.

The suspect added that Izaan, who left Thailand on August 16, had also issued orders to the bomber and another man wearing a blue t-shirt suspected of being the bomber in the August 18 incident.

The Thai military have handed the suspect over to the police. The Thai police have issued arrest warrants for two foreign men in connection with the bombing and interrogated two Indian men at an apartment where investigators found bomb-making materials.
