Deputy PM urges to tap potential of north-central, central coastal regions

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has stressed the need to exploit the potential in geographical position, economic development, natural resources, and human resources of the north-central and central coastal region.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, who is Chairman of the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region, was speaking at the first conference of the Council on Saturday in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province.

Mr. Ha said the region, which comprises of 14 provinces and cities, has a strategic position in terms of economy, politics, culture, society, national defense, and security. He urged the region to keep up with the development of other regions nationwide.

The Government approved a planning for the North Central and Central Coastal Region for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.

Mr. Ha asked localities to strengthen regional linkages, considering it a facelift for regional development.
