(VOVworld) – With 97.77% of the votes, Madam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was re-elected to head the 14th National Assembly during the legislature’s first session on Friday.

NA deputies expressed their belief and determination to work closely with the newly-elect chairwoman to increase the quality of NA operations and build a united and creative National Assembly as per Madam Ngan’s oath.
Truong Minh Hoang, a deputy for Ca Mau province, said he hopes that with her political spirit and brainpower, chairwoman Ngan will continue to uphold the achievements of the previous term.
Hoang said: “Right after her oath at the 11th session of the previous NA, Madam Ngan’s governance has practically been verified, due to which both deputies and voters can place their trust in her and nominate her to the highest position of the legislature. We strongly believe that in this tenure as the NA Chairwoman, she will realize her promises made at the swearing-in ceremony.”
Many lawmakers said Madam Ngan’s experience gained through various positions, ensure she and all NA deputies and agencies will make many changes in legislation, oversight, and decision-making on national key issues.
Deputy Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, representing Vinh Long province, said: “The chairwoman has undertaken important positions in previous NA tenures so we believe that she can outline more effective and practical solutions to renew methods of management and improve the quality and effectiveness of the state apparatus, the National Assembly, and its agencies in the coming years.”
