(VOVworld) – Vietnam attaches importance to reinforcing and expanding its special solidarity with Laos, Deputy Defense Minister Le Huu Duc told Khamdeng Phengvilay, Director of the Planning and Finance Department of the Lao Defense Ministry, on Tuesday.

Duc said defense cooperation is a highlight of Vietnam-Laos relations which will help each country to ensure security, stabilize politics, and build a strong army to protect national sovereignty and foil any hostile scheme aimed at sabotaging the bilateral friendship. He asked the Department of Finance of Vietnam’s Defense Ministry and its Lao counterpart to work together to fulfill their memorandum of understanding.
