(VOVworld) - The World Health Organization said on Wednesday that the death toll from the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is now at least 1,350 people.

In the 2 days from August 17-18, another 106 deaths were reported in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Despite Ebola’s ravages in West Africa, the WHO has acknowledged positive signs in Nigeria and Guinea, where preventive measures and efforts to identify the infection mechanism have made progress.
The UN senior official for Ebola, Dr. David Nabarro, has arrived in West Africa to strengthen medical services in the 4 African countries hardest hit by the deadly virus.
