(VOVworld) - Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Thursday said cross-border terrorism tops the agenda of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), adding tensions between India and Pakistan do have an impact on the forum.

He told reporters in India that the economic activity among the SAARC is low and there is virtually no integration in the South Asian sub-continent, while asking if SAARC is willing to go in for deeper cooperation and integration.

SAARC member states include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The SAARC Summit would not be possible without a member’s participation. Prime Minister Ranil urged India and Pakistan to refrain to avoid escalating tensions.
