(VOVworld) – The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) have moved closer to reaching an agreement regarding their differences concerning Cambodia's July parliamentary election. Progress was made following a meeting between Prime Minister Hun Sen of the CPP and the CNRP’s President Sam Rainsy at the Parliament building on Tuesday.

At a news conference following the meeting, spokesmen from both parties Prak Sokhon and Yim Sovan, said their party leaders had reconciled many differences in their views to resolve issues in the supreme interests of the people and nation. The two spokesmen said both leaders had discussed a series of issues including those relating to the country’s supreme bodies such as the Parliament.
