The national count of COVID-19 cases now stands at 2,846. According to the Health Ministry’s Medical Examination and Treatment Department, a total of 2,516 COVID-19 patients in the nation have been given the all clear. The death toll remains at 35.

In the face of the increasing number of illegal entrants into Vietnam, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long requested tighter control over entry activities in border localities. As public holidays, Liberation Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1), are approaching, the Health Ministry is accelerating COVID-19 vaccinations and closely monitoring the enforcement of preventive measures in localities across the country, Minister Long said.

According the Expanded National Immunization Program, a total 209,632 frontline healthcare workers along with members of community-based anti-COVID-19 groups had been injected with the COVID-19 vaccine from March 8 to Sunday.
