COVID-19: Vietnam reports 254 new cases, one more death on Friday

(VOVWORLD) - 173 more cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by the Ministry of Health from 12 noon to 6 pm on Friday, raising the total count of the day to 254.

The new cases included 1 imported case,  176 cases in Bac Giang, 33 in Bac Ninh, 25 in Ho Chi Minh City, 4 in Hanoi, 10 in Lang Son, and each one in Thai Binh, Long An, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, and Ha Nam province.

Vietnam reported the 47th death of COVID-19 on Friday. The 22-year-old girl from Phu Tho province died of COVID-19, septic shock, blood fungal infection, and bone marrow failure, the Ministry of Health said.

This is the 12th COVID-19 death in Vietnam during the current fourth COVID-19 wave and the 47th fatality since last year.
