COVID-19: 81 days without community infections in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam on Sunday went through 81 consecutive days without any new infections of COVID-19 in the community, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The total number of COVID-19 patients recorded in Vietnam so far is 1,306, of whom 1,142 people have been cured, and 35 have died. The latest patient (Patient No. 1,306) who entered Vietnam from Germany on November 19 was isolated immediately after the plane landed at Van Don airport in northern Vietnam.

Meanwhile, a flight arranged by Vietnamese authoritty brought home 290 Vietnamese citizens from the Czech Republic on Saturday and Sunday. The passengers included children under 18, the elderly, the illnesses, students who completed their studies, workers with expired contracts, and others in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.

Upon arrival at the Can Tho international airport in southern Vietnam, all passengers and crew members received medical check-ups and were sent to quarantine in line with regulations.
