(VOVworld) - A Turkish Navy ship has evacuated 55 Turks stranded in war-torn Yemen, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Friday. He added the ship will take the Turkish nationals to Djibouti, where they will take a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight to return home.

Several countries have been struggling to evacuate their nationals from Yemen, the site of escalating violence since last year, when Houthi fighters backed by Iran seized the capital city of Sanaa. A Chinese naval frigate on Thursday evacuated 225 people from Aden from 10 countries, including Britain, Canada, Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, Pakistan and Singapore.
