A Foreign Ministry statement said that the US’s new executive order is illogical and against international law. Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, who has both American and Somalia nationalities, admitted security challenges of Somalia and said his new administration will try to resolve the issues, adding that Trump should dismiss the new executive order. Sudan's Foreign Ministry said it was disappointed with President Trump's revised order being signed despite Khartoum’s on-going negotiations with Washington to tackle anti-terrorism in the region and the world.
US President Donald Trump on Monday signed a revised executive order, nearly a month after his former order was suspended by courts. Accordingly, the Refugee Admissions Program will be temporarily suspended for the next 120 days, and there will be a 90-day ban on people from Sudan, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen, which does not apply to those who already have valid visas. The order will come into force on March 16.
