The law sets out that the Government will establish a national steering committee on counter-terrorism, and provincial-level steering boards and task forces will be established under the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defence.  The law will help Vietnam ensure national security, maintain social order and safety, and promote international cooperation in combating this type of crime.

On the same day, the National Assembly discussed revised Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and negotiations to sign a government-level agreement to deal with free migration and illegitimate marriage in Vietnam and Laos border area.
