Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Minh Huan set out future measures: “Ministries need to give more detailed instructions to ensure policies’ viability. The Ministry of Finance introduces the tax exemption and reduction for those who render great services to the nation and provide them with facilities and resources for their production and businesses. The Ministry of Construction is in charge of instructing policies on housing support. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development leads the implementation of preferences in agricultural, forestry and aquaculture businesses.  The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment instructs the implementation of incentives for land users who are revolutionaries and relatives of martyrs. The Ministry of Education and Training leads the implementation of preferential policies on enrollment and training for those who render great services to the nation and their children”.

There are now 8.8 million people recognized as having rendered great services to the nation, accounting for 10% of Vietnam’s population. Of this figure, 1.4 million people and their relatives receive monthly allowance.
