Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung extended his sympathies to his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh cabled messages of sympathy to Sartaj Aziz, Adviser on Foreign Affairs to Pakistani Prime Minister and the Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani.

A powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake ripped across Afghanistan and Pakistan on October 26, killing 370 people.
