The project, part of Standard Chartered’s Futuremakers program supported by Youth Business International (YBI) and funded by Standard Chartered Foundation, is aimed at addressing inequality by promoting economic inclusion for disadvantaged young people.
Nguyen Thuy Hanh, CEO of Standard Chartered Vietnam, said, “In the next phase, we aim to create and sustain 140,000 jobs by 2030, prioritizing two key groups: disadvantaged young women aged 18-35, and micro-enterprises with a maximum of 10 employees and annual revenue of less than 10,000 USD.”
“We are delighted to continue partnering with YBI and our local partner in Vietnam, Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF), to implement the new ‘Accelerator Master The Money Game’ project,” Hanh added.
Under the Co4Growth project, 500 women-owned businesses have been supported with valuable, practical knowledge to develop sound financial strategies.
Present at the launch of the Co4Growth project were representatives from Standard Chartered, venture capitalists, angel investors, the Vietnamese innovative startup community, UNDP, MSD United Way Vietnam, and Women in Innovation and Enterprise (WISE) as well as finance and technology experts and female entrepreneurs who participated in Co4Growth in the previous seasons.
