There were violent clashes on the Italy Austria border (express.co.uk)

Up to 500 protestors holding slogans gathered at Brenner station and headed to the border area. A police officer was injured in the clashes and tens of demonstrators were being held by police.

Austria earlier announced its plans to erect a fence at its border with Italy to channel people. This is part of Europe's borderless Schengen zone and the routes migrants use to head towards northern Europe. Austria’ plan is objected by Italy and Germany.
