Addressing the Harvard Kennedy School China Conference 2024, Xie said “a peaceful international environment is necessary, and a stable China-US relationship is vital.”
The statement was delivered ahead of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to China from Wednesday to Friday.
The US State Department said Blinken will meet with senior Chinese officials in Shanghai and Beijing to discuss bilateral, regional, and global issues, including the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.
The Secretary of State will reaffirm how important it is for the US and China to responsibly manage their competition, even in areas where the two countries sharply disagree.
