The two-day meeting beginning Friday will focus on maritime disputes and cyber security.

Dan Kritenbrink, National Security Council Senior Director for Asian Affairs, said Washington will not conceal its current differences with Beijing on maritime and cyber issues and will promote the mutual benefits of reducing instability on the Korean peninsula.

Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes said Washington believes some recent actions violate international non-militarizing disputed areas and resolving conflicts peacefully, in line with the international law. Officials said the two leaders will discuss the nuclear situation on the Korean peninsula and China’s economy. Obama will urge China to impose UN sanctions on North Korea.
