Spokesperson for China’s Defense Ministry Geng Yansheng said at a monthly briefing on Thursday that the agreement is an important precondition for improving Sino-Japanese relations and all parties involved should strictly follow it. Geng demanded Japan implement the agreement with concrete actions, appropriately handle sensitive problems, and make an effort to improve and develop the bilateral relationship. China and Japan agreed earlier this month to resume political, diplomatic, and security talks and acknowledged each other’s stance on the disputed Senkaku Islands which China calls Diaoyu.
