US President Donald Trump said Monday that talks with North Korea would be possible only under the right conditions, after Pyongyang expressed a willingness to talk with Washington. Mr. Lu said that tensions on the Korean Peninsula have recently eased, and China hopes that the situation can be maintained after the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, helping put parties back on the track of addressing the nuclear issue through negotiations. He said this conforms to the common aspiration of the two Koreas, other countries in the region, and the world community. China said it hopes the dialogue between North and South Korea can be expanded to a direct dialogue between the US and North Korea.
