Armenia and Azerbaijan have both described the latest meeting of their leaders as "positive" and "constructive," saying they agreed to strengthen the ceasefire and continue their dialogue. Baku agreed to provide humanitarian aid and food to the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

A representative of the President of Azerbaijan announced that Azerbaijan has given the Armenian side a draft peace agreement, and Baku is now awaiting a response from Armenian authorities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev have agreed to intensify trilateral negotiations with Armenia, including drafting a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, the Kremlin’s press service said, following a telephone conversation between the two heads of state. During the phone call, the two discussed steps that need to be taken to stabilize the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, and humanitarian issues in the disputed area.

Nagorno-Karabakh is a mountainous region at the southern end of the Karabakh mountain range in Azerbaijan. It is internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan, but most of its inhabitants are ethnic Armenians who want to merge with Armenia.
