It also marked the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Cat Hai district.
Bui Tuan Manh, Chairman of the Cat Hai People's Committee said since President Ho’s visit on March 31, 1959, Cat Hai has evolved from a pristine island into a pivotal marine economic area of Hai Phong city and the northern region.
The Cat Ba Tourism program will include a hot air balloon festival, the Fastest X Cat Ba Amatina Run, and the Cat Hai District Dragon Boat Race.
“This isn't my first visit to Cat Ba archipelago, but this time, I was fortunate enough to be here for the opening of the Cat Ba Tourism program. It is fantastic, and I can see that Cat Ba has undergone significant changes. The beach remains beautiful and alluring, and the travel services are more professional. The festival's activities are distinctive and impressive,” said Hoang Thi Hanh, a tourist from Thai Binh province.
Cat Ba archipelago was recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve in 2004. Last year, it joined Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
