(VOVworld) – Canada's Parliament has voted 207 to 81 to endorse the Paris agreement on climate change reached at the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference.

Two days earlier, Parliament ratified a national carbon emissions plan that will begin in 2018. The Paris Agreement will be put into effect 30 days after it is ratified by 55 countries responsible for 55% of global emissions. Its aim is to hold the increase in average global temperature to less than 2 °C above pre-industrial levels.
