Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada Pham Cao Phong emphasized that with the desire for independence and freedom, all Vietnamese people desire peace and prosperity.
Uniting all people as one, Vietnam is looking to the future with a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of foreign relations.
As a reliable partner and active and responsible member of the international community, the Vietnamese people are determined to protect independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, people’s right to self-determination and self-determination as well as the right to pursue happiness of every citizen.
Paul Thoppil, Assistant Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, expressed his admiration for the 77-year journey of Vietnam with an impressive transformation, rising to the position of one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
He was optimistic that Vietnam can become a strategic partner of Canada in the future, as the two countries continue to build a common vision of peace, stability and prosperity for ASEAN and people in the region.
