Canada’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects in Vietnam have addressed the country’s development needs, he said. Canada is the 14th largest investor in Vietnam, contributing more than 4.8 billion USD across 247 projects.

Mr. Hussen said Canada is committed to aiding Vietnam’s pursuit of sustainable and inclusive growth. This involves projects on infrastructure and climate change response, and projects to boost the economic well-being of ethnic minority women and other vulnerable groups in Vietnam, he added.

During his visit to Vietnam, Mr. Hussen launched a book reviewing the achievements of cooperation between Vietnam and Canada that have taken place over the past 30 years. The book is available in Vietnamese, English and French.
