There will be conferences on tourism and water safety, an art program, and the Can Tho Composite Boat Racing Championship.
The festival will promote city tours and sustainable river-based tourism along the Mekong River, said Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep.
"The festival will promote Can Tho city to other localities and international friends, attract more tourists and boost the city’s growth in 2025 and 2026. It will also lay the groundwork for future editions of the festival," she added.
The Can Tho River Culture Festival will run from December 26th to January 1st at Ninh Kieu wharf and Hau River park.
