(VOVworld) – Can Tho has set a target of helping 3000 households escape poverty in 2015, and reducing the ratio of local poor households to 1.84% in 2015 from last year’s 2.84%. Director of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Nguyen Thanh Xuan said the province aims to boost economic development with an ultimate goal of earning 10 billion USD from industrial and agricultural production and trade (up 11.5% from 2014), to improve local income, and reduce poverty sustainably.
