The event, one of the main tourism activities in Can Tho, aims to promote the region’s traditional culture.

Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Kieu district People's Committee, said, “The highlight of this year's Lantern Festival is the Light Festival with the theme ‘Converge and shine’. Decorative lanterns, lotus ponds, and interwoven gardens will give a different look to tourists this year.”

The event will run until Sunday at the Ninh Kieu park and pedestrian bridge over the Khai Luong canal. It will include 12 cultural and arts programs featuring hundreds of performers from leading art troupes of Can Tho and other provinces.
