(VOVworld) - The ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) closed its 39th meeting in Phnom Penh on Sunday.

The two-day event was presided over by party President and Prime Minister Hun Sen and the party's Honorary President Heng Samrin, who is the President of the National Assembly. Delegates reviewed the Party’s achievements in 2015 and set out tasks for 2016. The meeting released a communiqué which reiterated the Party’s support for the Cambodian government’s efforts to implement the Political Platform and the third phase of the Quadrilateral Strategy, and to address border issues with Cambodia’s neighboring countries. According to the communiqué, Cambodia achieved remarkable economic growth of 7% in 2015 and is becoming a country with a close-to-average income.
