Prime Minister Boiko Borisov of Bulgaria submitted his government’s resignation on Wednesday after a tumultuous week of public anger over rising electricity prices. Previously, to calm public opinion, Borisov had accepted his Finance Minister Simeon Syankov’s resignation and pledged to decrease electricity prices and punish electricity suppliers. However, these efforts were ineffective. There is no information on the coming presidential election, which is scheduled to take place in July.
