Britain will transfer a total of 543 million euros to France, nearly double the amount previously committed.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stressed that the two countries will agree to establish in the north of France a new detention center for migrants and the first joint command center for both countries.
Britain will send an additional 500 security personnel to France to participate in joint patrols along the French coast. Modern drones and surveillance technology will also be used to increase detection rates and prevent migrants.
Last year, Britain and France coordinated to prevent more than 1,300 trains carrying illegal migrants from France to the UK, dismantled 55 human trafficking rings but still allowed nearly 46,000 successful migrants to enter the UK.
