(VOVWORLD) -A new book entitled “Uncle Ho with US Presidents” discusses the late President's diplomatic efforts to establish relations with the US from the early years of his journey to find a way to liberate Vietnam until his final years as the leader of Vietnam’s revolution for independence.

The book testifies to Ho Chi Minh’s genius as a diplomat who founded the modern diplomacy of Vietnam.

Compiled by Associate Professor Dr. Vo Van Loc, the book contains official letters, dispatches, and articles, divided into two parts.

The first part covers the period between 1919 and 1946, during which Ho Chi Minh sent letters to three US Presidents – Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Harry S. Truman.

These letters demonstrated Uncle Ho’s trust, sincerity, patience, reasonableness, and wish to establish friendly relations with the US. His hopes were not realized, however. The US Presidents showed no sign of having received the message he was trying to deliver.

The second part deals with the period from 1947 to 1969 with four US presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard Nixon.
