(VOVworld) – The body of Senior Lieutenant-Colonel Tran Quang Khai in a SU30-MK2 fighter jet that went missing recently was found on Friday evening in the area of Hon Mat Island in waters off Nghe An province, about 40 nautical miles from land.

Nghe An province’s border guards approached and brought the body of the colonel to the shore. Tran Quang Khai is the pilot of SU30-MK2 fighter jet which lost contact on Tuesday during a training session.

A CASA 212 went down on Thursday while searching the missing Su30-MK2 aircraft. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested the Defense Ministry and local authorities to exert all efforts to look for the missing crew. He called for the coordination with international rescue forces for the efficient and safe rescue.
