Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee has required that blood donors should not exceed five people in specific time frames and strictly adhere to COVID-19 regulations.

Bui Van Tuan, a member of the Organizing Committee, said, “We will not let the pandemic to ruin our plans but adjust plans to the actual situation and direction of the Ministry of Health as well as of Hanoi city. 3,500 blood units is meaningful now when the pandemic is ravaging and the blood source is scarce. This will help the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and hospitals to have enough blood resources to treat patients.”

The "Red drop of gratitude" campaign is part of the national blood donation program 2021 called Red Journey organized by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the Hanoi Blood Donation Campaign Youth Association.
