The House of Representatives voted 348-76 to override the veto, meaning the "Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act" will become law.

Earlier, the Senate voted 97-1 to override President Obama’s veto. This was the first time the Senate has mastered the necessary votes to neutralize the President’s veto in his two terms. Senators did not want to be accused of making concessions to sponsors of terrorism when voter fears of Muslim terrorism have been stoked by recent attacks in New York, Minnesota, and Orlando.
