(VOVworld) – A bike race was cancelled in Germany on Friday after police in the Frankfurt-area town of Oberursel arrested 2 suspects of planning a Boston-style attack.

According to a prosecutor of Hessen state, police recovered a pipe bomb ready to be used, 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a gun, essential parts of a G-3 assault rifle, and 3 liters of hydrogen peroxide at their house.

German authorities said that with the arrest, police thwarted a terrorist plot which targeted Frankfurt bike race.
