At the reception, President Thuong recalled that more than 800 years ago, the Vietnamese Ly family settled down and participated in building and protecting the Korean nation. Today, the two countries have become each other's most important partners, supporting each other for the shared development of the two countries.
President Thuong emphasized the strengthening of Vietnam-RoK relations is in line with the aspirations and interests of the two peoples, making practical contributions to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity of the region and the world.
President Yoon said that the two countries are enjoying a deep connection through people-to-people exchanges, and it is the people that will make the two countries more connected and face a brighter future.
In addition to the strong growth in trade and investment cooperation, the Republic of Korea has become the largest foreign investor in Vietnam.
Currently, there are more than 170,000 Koreans residing in Vietnam and about 270,000 Vietnamese residing in Korea, who are contributing to elevating the two countries' relations to a new height.
