North Korea has recommended that foreign organizations, companies, and tourists in South Korea should prepare to evacuate in case of war. On Tuesday the South Korean government immediately called the warning an act of psychological warfare. Previously, South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye expressed her disappointment at North Korea’s decision to close the Kaesong joint industrial park. Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hong Lei said that Beijing does not want to see the chaos on the Korean Peninsula and protests any act that creates more tension here. The same day Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich said political and diplomat efforts are the way to resolve tensions. Meanwhile, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon warned that the situation on the Korean Peninsula could slip out of control. He called on parties to refrain from fueling more tension.
