The visitors included more than 49,000 foreigners. Revenue from tourism totaled 172 million USD.

To draw tourists from now until the end of the year, Ba Ria-Vung Tau is encouraging localities and businesses to create new products and tours, and incorporate cultural and sports activities into tourism programs, especially during the upcoming April 30 holiday.

Trinh Hang, Director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said that the highlight will be Vung Tau city.

"At the Maris Hotel there will be cultural and culinary programs and events. On Con Dao island, a number of activities will be organized on April 30 and May 1."
