President Ilham Aliyev, who signed the official order, extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Azerbaijan's prosecutor general's office previously said that 32 of the 67 people on board had survived the crash, but added that the number wasn't final.

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL)’s Embraer 190 was en route from the Azerbaijani capital of Baku to the Russian city of Grozny when it crashed near Aktau Airport in Kazakhstan. AZAL has halted all flights between Baku and the Chechen Republic of Russia until investigation into the crash is completed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on Wednesday offered condolences to Azerbaijan and the victims’ families.
