Nearly 60 authors of outstanding agricultural products have been honored at 2012 Golden Rice prize ceremony.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh said agriculture, farmers and rural areas play an important role in the country’s socio-economic development. He asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to further support measures and inventions of the honored collectives and individuals to apply them in agricultural production: "The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, other Ministries and local provinces need to assess the implementation of mechanism and policies of agriculture and new rural development models to make any changes to make it more effective. The honored collectives and individuals, scientists and farmers should continue to bring into full play these achievements to contribute more to the country’s agricultural and rural development".
