Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son called on Minister Don Farrell to encourage Australian businesses to increase investment in Vietnam, particularly in areas where Australia excels and Vietnam holds potential. He also proposed enhancing people-to-people exchanges, increasing direct flights between the two countries, and making it easier for Vietnamese citizens to study, work, and travel in Australia.

Minister Don Farrell reaffirmed the significant potential for economic, trade, and investment relations between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of implementing the Joint Statement on upgrading relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and expressed Australia's commitment to supporting Vietnam in high-quality infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and climate change adaptation.
The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son delivered a speech at the Australia-Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) Workshop in Adelaide and visited the University of Adelaide, one of Australia's most prestigious universities.
