Many children were among the dead and at least 50 others were wounded in the explosions that hit two crowded markets and a busy bus station.

Head of the fisherman's union, Abubakar Gamandi said the first bombing was made by a female suicide attacker claiming the lives of 18 people and the second blast rocking the popular Monday Market killed 15 people.

The third blast hit a used car lot which is attached to the busy Borno Express bus terminal.

The bombings took place when Nigeria and its neighboring Cameroon, Chad, and Niger are jointly increasing raids on Boko Haram.
