(VOVworld) - Suicide bombers followed up by gunmen have killed at least 120 people and wounded 270 others in a mosque, which was the place of worship of Nigeria's top anti-Boko Haram cleric. The first bomb explosion took place in Maiduguri city.

The bombers and gunmen attacked the Mosque during Friday prayers. The suicide bombers blew themselves up in quick succession and four gunmen then opened fire on those who were trying to escape. The four gunmen were then killed by the local people. The second bomb attack took place few hours after the first once in Grand Mosque in Kano city. The United Nations and the US strongly condemned the bloody attacks and pledged to support Nigerian people in their fight against the extremism.
