News channel Haberturk reported that a truck suspected of belonging to the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) struck a police shuttle bus and exploded in the province of Bingol. Since the Turkey-PKK ceasefire collapsed in July 2015 more than 600 Turkish soldiers and policemen have died and more than 5,000 Kurdish militants have been killed. The Peoples' Democratic Party, Turkey’s pro Kurdish party, said hundreds of civilians have perished in Turkey’s anti-terrorism campaign.
