Asian tourists account for 77% of foreign arrivals in Vietnam in H1

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam welcomed a total of 8.5 million foreign visitors in the first half of this year, 7.5% higher than the same period last year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

Asia had the highest number of tourists to Vietnam with 77.6% of the total foreign arrivals from January to July, followed by Europe and America. South Korea and China remained the two biggest tourism markets of Vietnam.

The Administration said that in the first half of this year Vietnam hosted numerous regional and global events, including the ASEAN Tourism Forum, the second US-DPRK Summit, and the UN Vesak Day 2019, which helped promote Vietnam’s tourism to the world.
