Asia leads the world in COVID-19 infection cases

(VOVWORLD) - According to the statistics site worldometers.info, as of 2.30 pm on Sunday (UTC), the world recorded a total of more than 184.3  million cases of COVID-19, including nearly 4 million deaths.

More than 11.6 million COVID-19 patients are being treated, more than 168.7 million have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

By region, Asia is leading the world in the number of COVID-19 cases, with 56.3 million cases and more than 800 thousand deaths. Second is Europe with 48.2 million cases and 1.1 million deaths. North America ranks third in the world with 40.7 million cases and 920 thousand deaths.
