(VOVworld) – The 5th Asia Beach Games (ABG5) wrapped up in Da Nang city on Monday. Themed “Shining Sea, Bright Future”, ABG5 has conveyed an image of beautiful Vietnam and its friendly people.

Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: “172 sets of medals were granted to athletes from 35 Asian countries and territories. Whether they won medals or not, they have achieved a victory of passion, determination, unity, friendship, and desire towards a peaceful future and prosperity for all nations.”
3,500 athletes and coaches from 42 countries and territories competed at ABG5 for 172 sets of medals in 14 sports. The Vietnamese team finished first after 10 days of competition, collecting 52 gold, 44 silver, and 43 bronze medals. The Thai and Chinese teams finished 2nd and 3rd.
