ASEAN to press on with set priorities despite COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - ASEAN will stick to its agenda despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung said at Monday’s online meeting of senior officials for the 36th ASEAN Summit this Friday.

The preparatory meeting focused on building the ASEAN Community, relations between ASEAN and partners, among others.

Mr. Dung said that COVID-19 should not affect ASEAN’s cooperation to achieve their shared goals.

ASEAN delegates praised Vietnam’s role as 2020 ASEAN Chair and its success in  containing COVID-19. They are committed to working with Vietnam to implement set priorities.
